Our core business in the past couple of years has taken a new direction and we have dived into the e-commerce sector. One of the best parts of owning an e-commerce store is creating collections and launching our own custom designed products.
For Mother's Day this year we wanted to create a collection that was not only thoughtful but was beautiful in true Oh It's Perfect style. We started the design process with collating images of interiors, fashion, tables capes and of course flowers. From this our Mother's Day collection was created 'You're a Star!'
To celebrate our collection we just had to throw a party! We wanted to invite our nearest and dearest. We opened up our address book and collated a list of guests that we just had to have including our Queen entertainment for the day Abril LaTrene.
Our lunch was held at The Smith, Prahran in their beautiful wisteria filled atrium. This matched perfectly to our theme. We sipped on welcome cocktails, Champagne and enjoyed their seasonal menu. To finish off our event we all nibbled on the dreamiest cake.
Jacquelyn and Sabrina knew they wanted to use Sweet Salvage Rentals. Marnie’s beautifully curated collection is so much fun to play with! They brought in Double Dipped Calligraphy to create the invite. From there they enlisted the help of Goldie Blooms to bring vibrancy with their amazing florals. The backdrop was the showstopper of this setup and their friends at Paper Garden XOXO nailed the design.
Malisa from Creative Amme brought all the cute details with her laser cut signage. From drink stirrers to the beautiful menus. Sugar Crush Sweets made incredible desserts that were playful and modern. Hostess Haven is their go to for tabletop, they have the most beautiful inventory to transform your tablescape. To bring in refreshingly cool treat, they used Pacific Organic Pops! Bottles and blooms cocktails packed a citrus punch! The talented photographer Lorin Kelly captured all the details perfectly!

Tam’s favorite feature, the “backdrop designed and created to perfection by Hello Kis Met.” They transformed the Roashan family’s driveway into a mini summer escape with a Santorini and Mediterranean flair! Tam hosted a beautiful drive-by baby shower and was able to share special boxed treats and gifts with her guests. Each guest received: Gorgeous evil eye jewelry, candle, and masks. Custom chocolate dipped cake pops and desserts. Custom cookies that featured an edible photo of the couple, Indian fusion desserts, Iced Drink Cart featuring Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade, Blueberry Lemonade and assorted iced tea. Freshly-cut fruits and shaved ice - much needed on this hot day!
Tam’s favorite feature of the poolside setup, which was “the STUNNING middle-eastern vibe tent featuring blue drapery, golden tassels, and a gorgeous white Moroccan lantern chandelier hanging right in the center and it all overlooked the grand pool which featured round white floating orbs (balloons) of various sizes. The backyard pool area was transformed into a mini Mediterranean resort style hangout with vibrant colors and delicious finger foods.

]]>The light and airy theme of this baby shower has hints of sage green, bronze, & white colour seen throughout the entire design, paying homage to the Baby in Bloom theme. Starting with the custom made hot air balloon with fringe detail & pampas grass, and of course through the beautiful backdrop display & balloon garland.
Of course, for close family a special picnic table was adorned with beautiful florals right at the center of the baby shower. Picnic blankets & trays were set out for each guest to enjoy their very own special treats. Such a lovely picnic set-up for guests to remain socially distant while enjoying delicious treats.
This beautiful baby shower was hosted by the sister of mama to be. She set out fresh succulent plants for their guests to take home as a special thank you for attending, perfect for this Baby in Bloom theme!

A pink, lilac, blue and white balloon garland hung on the wall with matching pastel swirl banners. A fun pink fringe banner was placed underneath. A boho rug was situated on the ground with a rattan table, blush leather poufs and pillows for picnic-style seating. A tinsel garland was styled down the center of the table with a pretty pink floral arrangement.
At each place setting was a mint and marble plate, iridescent cup, peppermint napkin and white flatware. Guests enjoyed sweet treats like holiday shaped cookies, and marshmallows.

The rustic wooden table was filled with goodies! A donut stand held mini donuts by Peace, Love and Little Donuts decorated as ghosts, spiderwebs and gold glitter. A chalkboard sign read “donut you know you are gorgeous” because guess what...you are! The floral arrangements were by Tom Trovato included tulips, roses and gerber daises that matched the balloons perfectly.
Custom crayons were made by Lori of Pop of Gold that read “eek” and “boo” - they were the perfect addition to the table and doubled as favors. Other details included: jars with mini chocolate donut pops, mini donut stands and gold spider webs. Each place setting had a peach and purple ombré plate, ghost napkin, and cups from Ellie and Piper.

To showcase their recent celebration shoot the dream team headed to the picturesque Loyal Hope of the Valley to capture the magic. Their florist, Bouquet Boutique, designed the perfect floral arrangements to compliment their Spring flair. They kept the colour palette bright and warm with blush and peachy undertones to compliment the burnt orange and textures in the floral and tableware pieces. White and gold dual tone cutlery was styled with soft creams and terracotta stationary, adding a touch of elegance to the tablescape. The bright blue place-cards with tassels added a fun pop of colour and an extra layer. The stunning amber wine and water glasses were a hot new take on traditional glassware, they toned beautifully with the blooms.
To complete the look the balloon installation cascaded from ceiling to floor in front of patio area, creating the perfect entrance for all party attendees. The wonderful Blossom Tree company also crafted a fun and vivid balloon backdrop providing the perfect photo op for an intimate spring time event. And of course the party wasn’t complete without a decadent cake. Their talented friends at Vanilla Pod crafted the perfect addition to the Spring celebration. The multi-coloured icing and the fun raspberry red interior made this shaggy cake not only picture-perfect but the ultimate addition to the party scene.
Being a 1920s heritage listed hall, Loyal of the Valley is a truly charming and intimate space. Located in the heart of Brisbane CBD, this venue has a capacity to host fifty guests and features a cosy garden courtyard making it the sweetest venue to celebrate a unique personal celebration.

A fun colourway of orange, black, light pink, turquoise blue and mint green. The stunning backdrop included DIY BOO fringe letters, eek burlap banner, and a fireplace full of colorful balloons with a spider web! The table was dressed with confetti, a handcrafted floral pumpkin centerpiece, colorful skulls, and pennant spooky flags.
Each child received a DIY mini witches broom, plastic spider ring, and name letter crayon. Their place setting each had a colourful fringe placemat, adorable plate, jack-o-lantern mug, chic cutlery, and black napkin. Once dinner was finished, the kids used their trick or treat bag, complete with a cute Happy Halloween printable, to collect their lollies. A lolly charcuter-eek board was full of candy corn, colourful popcorn, apple cider donuts and gummy candy. The inspiration for the DIYs BOO Fringe Letters came from @lifted_balloons

Bec from BB Collective created this gorgeous baby shower for her girlfriend Libby, she is truly one of a kind. While Libby veers very close to bringing a new life into this world, it was becoming more clear that her family from across the ditch in NZ were going to be unable to be here for this special time in her life. So naturally Bec knew they had to throw her a surprise baby shower to celebrate the soon arrival of Baby Hasler. Along with the help of some very talented local vendors, they brought together the surprise baby shower of Lib's dreams.
They had a very last minute decision to change the setup from being outdoors in the sunshine, to being indoors due to the event falling on the coldest day of the year. So out went all of the furniture in her house and in came a whimsical, boho, floral picnic heaven!

The shoot showcased natural Japanese pottery, a mix of gorgeous dried and fresh flowers like gerberas, natural pussy tails, dried grass, banksia, pampass grass and dried natural ruscus. The Boho Indoor Picnic was perfectly styled by Little Pallet Co. with each detail capturing the modern Boho vibe. From natural tones to the subtle blues and reds peppered throughout, the colour palette creates a warm, friendly and inviting feel. The grey balloon feature gives the space a celebratory sense and the colours flow cohesively throughout the room. The flower arrangements are breathtaking as the rugs and timbers reinforce the Boho indoor picnic theme. All perfectly propped against a white backdrop. And who could ignore the suspended cheeseboard, creating the perfect centre-piece. The ladies spent the afternoon grazing on the cheeseboard with bread, crackers, fresh fruits, and nuts. The party may have been small (within Covid 19 regulations) but the decorations were not! The boys had the best time celebrating with their nearest and dearest!
The challenge was to combine the 2 themes. Colour was used to blend both themes together and lots of balloons. The team from Confetti Party Hire put a contemporary spin on both themes. The setup featured elements including statement balloon filled jumbo numbers, epic balloon wall, velvet wall, black mesh and streamers.
Both boys had amazing cakes from Scarlet Jade Austin that were interactive as they rotated! By rotating the cakes the boys could interchange their favourite Minecraft and Sonic characters. The end result was a hit with the birthday boys!

]]>Back to school was important for Marissa & Kelsey from House Of Fete to celebrate, whether the kids are going back to school or not, they wanted to recognize a new year of learning. Inspired by school supplies, they took the classic things like a no 2 pencil, composition notebook, and chalkboard and challenged themselves to create a festive shoot. They had fringe that was made to look like a pencil, created a chalkboard out of paper plates, and even incorporated vintage lockers, cue the nostalgia.
They set the table with a chalkboard runner so the kids could draw and each place setting was different. The team thought outside the box by making the places into school supplies. They had milk cartons and individual name tags.
The kids had a blast enjoying individual lunch boxes, practicing their abc's on the chalkboard and indulging in the cake (which was filled with peanut butter and jam). Their favorite part was opening the back to school "advent" locker, each compartment was filled with something different. They celebrated a new year with pencil party hats and dug into the cake.
They thought about every detail and head into the new school year excited and inspired, even if they are their new teachers.

Basically, she is a diehard instagramer, Pinterest board maker, mag idea looker and do-it-yourself kinda girl!
Her theme all started with a party hat! She has been stalking Poppies for Grace for years now and is in AWE! Since they were in another state when her daughter Isla turned ONE, she remembered teaching herself how to make a base level balloon garland. She didn’t have a pump so she asked her friend and sister to help blow up about 500-600+ balloons one day, ready for Jess to string up in the morning. That first birthday was what put the fire in her belly.
In June last year Jess started her instagram, @babeinstantpartyhire. She did a few setups for friends and then their friends were asking, so she created the page! ONE YEAR LATER, give or take a month or so, she had to celebrate her first year in the biz the only way she knew how - in a really EXTRA, Aussie way! She finally got to use those same party hats that first inspired her for the party!

Jo has wanted to do this theme for a while using rose quartz and crystals to embody love and life. They used the crystals with a combination of white marble features, brass detailing and lots and lots of hand painted white vases and urns to hold the stunning preserved floral arrangements. Jo also loved the integration of the existing light pendants and wood feature wall into the event with the rattan placemats to give it an overall cohesion. Nora's Mum was overjoyed and teary and that’s the biggest compliment.

]]>Overall, Alex really enjoyed planning her wedding. She had a clear idea of what she wanted and would go to Instagram for inspiration. Creating mood boards was really helpful, not only for the planning stages, but also when working with suppliers as she could show them exactly what she wanted. Once she had her beautiful bridal dress, the perfect wedding venue and an amazing photographer confirmed, she was so happy and confident that it would be the wedding of her dreams.
However, the COVID-19 crisis threw all their plans into disarray. On Saturday 14 March, the New Zealand Prime Minister announced she was introducing a 14-day isolation period for anyone coming into the country from midnight on Sunday, four days before our wedding on Thursday, 19 March.
Suddenly, they were forced to make some extremely difficult decisions. Should they proceed with the wedding without some of their most cherished and immediate family members that they knew could not travel to New Zealand before the deadline, or cancel the wedding? As the wedding was only five days away, it would have been nearly impossible to get any refunds from suppliers, so they decided to go ahead. They announced to their guests that the wedding was still going ahead and that they were changing their flights to Sunday. They asked if anyone else could change their arrangements as they would love them to join the couple, but understood if it wasn’t possible. With Brennan’s (Groom) sister living in Singapore and Alex's brother being unwell and awaiting a health clearance, both their siblings could not be at the wedding.
As soon as they arrived in New Zealand, they had to contact all of the suppliers and reorganise the wedding because the number of our guests had gone from 85 to 35.
When planning a wedding, just be prepared for at least one thing to go wrong. In Alex's case, they had about 20 – who could have ever envisaged COVID-19! Prepare yourself in advance for this and approach your big day with the attitude that anything that goes wrong won’t phase you. If something does go wrong (and it will), don’t sweat it. There is only so much that you can control and most of the time only you will know that it is wrong. Do what you can up leading up to your wedding and then place all your trust on the day being wonderful with all the work you, your planner and your loved ones have done to make it an amazing celebration.
The wedding day was certainly eventful. They had gale force winds, the wedding cars were cancelled as one of the drivers may have been in contact with COVID-19 and the driver conveying the guests to the venue by bus locked them in to await a health clearance check. However the day before, they made a promise to themselves that no matter what happened they would have a smile on their faces and not let anything affect them.
Walking down the hill and seeing Brennan’s smiling face beaming back at her was definitely a highlight. They had overcome the obstacles and were actually getting married! Rippon Hall is such a beautiful place and it was so lovely to have their loved ones there to experience it with the couple.
Following the ceremony, they went off in a helicopter to Coromandel Peak. When they last visited Wanaka they had climbed Roys Peak so it was lovely to go there again, but this time in style! It was so magical up there. It was wonderful that Brennan and Alex got to have that alone time together to just stop and enjoy being newlyweds.
With a smaller wedding party than originally planned, the reception was moved into the Hall, which had such an intimate feel and was truly magnificent. Brennan’s best man and his wife surprised them with a beautiful video of all the people who couldn’t make it to the wedding. They all had a little message for them and as you can imagine there were plenty of tears from everyone. It was such a nice surprise and really made their day seeing everyone who couldn’t make it.

]]>Rosie and Ben's wedding is a definite stand out! They made wise choices. Being busy with careers and 3 kids under 4 meant they had to be decisive and choose the right help. Which they did in spades. They wanted a relaxed, bright, colourful and fun love party (Alfalfa florists nailed this brief and Ellie from Darling Don't Panic was their from start to finish to help with styling and planning).
They also wanted to include their kids. With the help of their amazing celebrant, Shannon Jeans, the kids got be a part of the ceremony. It was very cute! When the sun went down, the kids said good night and the adults danced the night away with incredible hospitality from The Panama Dining Room.
Rosie and Ben are a true meeting of equals, they delighted in each others company. Whether alone for their portraits or with their family and friends, you could see just how beautiful they are together.

]]>As quarantine stretches and social distancing is essential, the idea of an intimate and relaxed event at home might sound pretty good and be the solution to short-lived waiting for the much-anticipated party.
Last week it was Florencia's from Dulce Bell Eventos Boutique turn to go through this experience. Martina, her daughter, turned 15, they created something special for her where they had lunch, took pictures and sang her happy birthday.
Luckily the weather held up so they were able to celebrate in a park close by.
Martina had mentioned that she liked marble and something in pink so she used this for the cake and desserts.
Florencia collected furniture and decor she had at home: coffee tables with marble top, crockery, tablets, pink cushions. She put together a structure with balloons and a transparent acrylic signage, added glitter bubbles and her name using vinyl. She chose the cutest place in the garden, placed wicker armchairs and pink velvet puffs. On the grazing table there was pink and marble crockery, pink glasses and her beloved gold cutlery.
Florencia hired a small catering service and of course she made the cake! To all the guests that couldn't come they received dessert boxes with all the same treats. They celebrated virtually and shared in the birthday girl blowing her candles out!
