From flowing gowns of ruffles to curve-hugging lace. Last week, home grown and international designers gathered in Sydney to exhibit on the Australian Bridal Fashion Week runway. With enough sparkle to banish any mid-Winter blues, and presented in the oh so industrial chic Technology Park. Oh It’s Perfect not only attended the event, but went behind the scenes at intermission to give you an intimate feel to the day.
Sitting front row center, the runway provided both jaw dropping fashion forward couture and more conventional wedding gowns, with something available for any silhouette or colour palette. Our favorite collections of the day included the complex and detailed Shabi & Israel, the timeless When Freddie Met Lilly and the show stopping Shane McConnell. The intricate and elaborate designs of Millela Couture Millinery, paired with the theatrical black veils and harnessed lingerie also left us a little obsessed. Take a look to see what you missed.
Watching the couture gowns glide effortlessly over the concrete floor runway was euphoric experience. However, it wasn’t until we entered the intimate, sunlit dressing room during intermission that we were truly able to capture the romanticism of these gowns.
