Her agenda was to have a happy afternoon, their friends and family could visit to lend their love and support in helping Kai celebrate his big day. The party was hosted in their home, so little Kai would be comfortable with all the activity and also more manageable for his Mama Kendra to set up. They had a cake table, ice cream stand, pineapple punch area, cheeseboard and a drinks table. Special features included photos and quotes, that reflected their family and the very special 1st year they had with Kai.
The inspiration for the party came from a very big part of their lives, Hawaii! It was their happy place and even Kai's name is Hawaiin for "ocean". The party was meant to reflect the lovely, laid back nature of both Hawaii and beautiful Kai.
"I found two beautiful tropical prints that I wanted to incorporate through out and made the paper hats, ice cream cone holders, cups and string garlands with these.
Ania from 2 Love birds took the prints and carried the design through out with the graphics, postcard invitation and thank you cards . We used the 2 backdrops to co-ordinate with the invitations and thank you cards as a way to tie everything back together."
Som, Kai's Dad, is an ice cream maker (We are so jealous!) and so the ice cream stand was a must! The classic and heart shaped Popstics were a hit (passionfruit/chocolate, raspberry/chocolate and peppermint were the choice of flavours!) and so was the ice cream scoop stand itself! (Cookies & cream, chocolate mousse, coconut sorbet, mandarin & kumquat were the flavours!)
All in all, Kai was a very special little boy indeed, and his mama and papa definitely threw him a party they'd never forget!
