Danielle, the 'Her' to Him & Her Events recalls the lead up to the big day. 'When Kristy first got in touch with us we were only around five months out from her big day. Feeling very overwhelmed at the fast-approaching date as well as working full time, the planning process was beginning to take its toll on her. Throw in a last-minute venue change and it makes for one very anxious bride.
By the end of our first meeting I could already feel Kristy’s nerves beginning to ease and we hit it off instantly. Given the limited time frame we had to work in we got to work right away. Kristy opted for our ‘Partial Planning’ package as well as a variety of hire options from our prop and lighting inventory.
Set in the beautiful Mount Samson, Kristy and Ryan’s guests were able to stay onsite, allowing them to enjoy the entire weekend with family and friends. The property, Samford Lakes Accommodation, is also home to an array of wildlife and livestock including a very friendly rooster who came to say hello during the ceremony.
Kristy’s style is very soft and romantic so she opted for deep red velvety florals all loosely tied together and cascading effortlessly. Her arbour, an item from our inventory, was draped in ivory silk chiffon and finished off with an arrangement of velvety roses and thick greenery created by The Bloom Collective.
Inside the barn, we lined the room with three long deep timber top tables to create a feasting hall. Each lined with a lush green garland running the entire length and finished with our antique brass candle sticks dotted throughout. At the head of the room sat Kristy and Ryan at their own two-person table, all beneath a full canopy of clear warm fairy lights.
Given the DIY nature of the venue, Kristy and Ryan opted for a self-serve dinner with catering by the amazing ‘Spanish Paella’ who put on an incredible show. To compliment them, Kristy’s uncle who is also a butcher, provided a full pig which was slow roasted over a spit for the entire day. They finished the evening off with a salted caramel popcorn wedding cake by ‘Hansel & Gretel Cakes’ and marsh mallows to roast over the several fire pits.
We were there throughout the entire day and night to ensure absolutely nothing went wrong. The best part was of course seeing the look of absolute elation on Kristy’s face all day.'
After listening to Kirsty's passionate and playful vows (which you can see here) to her now husband Ryan, I couldn't help but feel the love stretch to every moment of this romantic celebration perfectly put together by Him & Her Events.
Held at the Samford Lakes Accommodation in QLD, the couple opted for an outdoor ceremony followed by a barn style reception - and as the photos show, nothing was short of absolute perfection. Thank you Kristy and Ryan for letting us share your special day.
