The en Blanc Birthday Party was an adaptation of the famous Diner en Blanc - an internationally celebrated pop up dinner with a white on white theme and alfresco-style food and drinks. But this birthday party took the best parts and created a tea party version and, of course, featured everything white on white!
The location, sticking to the tradition of Diner en blanc, was kept secret until the week before which added an element of fun to the event.
The invites and stationary, designed by Match Set, set the style for the entire event and added a personal touch for the birthday girl.
As favours, guests were gifted a yummy treat in a small drip bowl with a pretty tag that matched the stationery.
Held in the Culture Barn, a rentable creative space in Blackheath, Johannesburg. It was the perfect bright and light space for the event. Moi Decor Hire provided the use of cute white bottles and birthday signage - they also helped to bring the vision to life!
The key to bringing all of the decor together was to find perfectly white flowers. Plantation Revival made this happen with delicate bleached white dried flowers!
To continue the white theme the food was coloured to suit. Microwave popcorn in mini boxes, white macaroons, nougat, chocolate balls and some other off-white savouries all from Gonk Industries. The delicious risotto from A Zesty Life and some white triangle square sandwiches made by the birthday girls’ mother.
For the drinks non-alcoholic sparkling juices and milky white sparkling litchi juice which looked (and tasted) totally pretty in the champagne flutes.
The highlight was the DIY Pavlova kit from Gonk Industries. Colour was added to it to give a pop!
It was definitely an event that was enjoyed by all, and The en Blanc Birthday Party has really set the bar high for next year!
