I immediately started dreaming up my cake stand wonderland, eventually deciding on three styled tablescapes based on some of my favourite current wedding trends including geometric, woodland and watercolour. With the help of Astrid of Paperplayground, we got to work creating a bespoke design to set the overall aesthetic of each of the styled tablescapes. Colour played an important part in the design as we wanted to showcase the versatility of our hire collection as well as create a cohesive look in all aspects of the tablescape including pedestals, props, desserts, paperie and florals.
Our woodland tablescape was inspired by natural and earthy tones of green, mint, brown and copper. It featured a selection of our vintage cake stands, plates and pedestals as well as wooden tree slabs and a custom natural wood cake stand which went perfectly with a choc mud, red velvet and nutella cake encased in black poppy seeds and topped with Australian natives. We wanted the desserts to tie in with the natural colour palette so opted for choc brownies, choc & dulce de leche marshmallows, doughnuts, pistachio and ferrero rocher macarons and tree stump cookies etched with sweetheart initials. Other props included copper baskets, copper painted pinecones with dessert labels by Paperplayground, cascading floral arrangement and a drink dispenser filled with peach sangria.
Stay Tuned for Part two featuring the Geometric Tablescape by these two talented ladies, will be featured tomorrow!
