I think it's safe to say I see on average more than a hundred cakes/desserts each day, and while I am blown away every day by the creativity and skill of the dessert designers, sometimes I spot something that literally stops the scroll (on Instagram), and this shoot that we are sharing today is one of them. I discovered Don't Tell Charles work via her instagram account, when it was still very new and her unique style caught my attention straight away. It seems it got noticed by plenty more as her work has grown a massive following since then.
Here's what Thao who is originally from landscape architecture background, shared about her work and this shoot:
This particular shoot was intended to launch the signature concrete finish. Even though the shoot was done months ago, the photos took a while. Meanwhile, a lot more designs have been added to the concrete portfolio which you can see on my instagram.
The dessert table is inspired by the architectural trend of incorporating live plants into building facades and structures. The concrete finish was achieved using buttercream.
The shoot (which took place on a 40 degree day!) has been done in collaboration with Amy from Wanderlust to showcase her styling.
