OIP PARTY FOOD: BAKED APPLES RECIPE

Simple Baked Apples by: The Garden Of Eatin recipe-baked-apples 5 – 6 Apples – Granny Smiths, Royal Gala or how about these cute & teensie crab apples! 2 tbls unsalted butter 1 tbls honey or real maple syrup ¼ tsp cinnamon 2 tbls brown sugar 1 cup granola ½ cup cranberries or raisins ¼ cup apple juice, apple cider or water Okay, now what you need to do with these apples is this: Preheat your oven to 375F. Slice off a small amount off the top of your apple and core them. Place them cut side up in a nice baking dish. Now dot your apples with butter, drizzle with honey or maple syrup and sprinkle with, granola, cranberries (or raisins), brown sugar & cinnamon. Pour ¼ cup of juice, cider or water in the bottom of the dish. Bake until soft and puffy – about 30 to 40 minutes. Baste once or twice with liquid until apples look done but not mushy. Take your apples out of the baking dish, plate them on a serving dish and pour remaining liquid over top. Allow to cool and top with additional granola for an added crunch. baked-apples-recipe *Tip – if you don’t have granola cereal in the house you can use substitute a couple of crushed granola bars, if you don’t have granola bars you need to go shopping….how do not have granola bars in the house?
