Summer is here! So why not take advantage of the lovely weather and invite your friends along to a picnic! Poolside, beachside or countryside, having a picnic allows you to not only spend some quality time exploring the outdoors, but also will save you money. Most of the things you'll need you already have! Fresh air, beautiful surroundings and the best company you could ask for, picnics are an underrated alternative to a birthday party!
Even though at OIP we love a party, the sheer company of loved ones can outshine expensive, exuberant parties where in the end you just don't get to spend as much quality time with everyone!
A HOMELY TOUCH
To make your picnic interesting, vibrant and inviting for your guests; make it homely! Adding cushions and rugs not only adds dimension but also warmth. Fairy lights and balloons is a must! It will add to the grand feeling to your little oasis you've created. Most are DIY or are able to buy for cheap, inspiration is in an abundance.
You can also purchase or sometimes get pallets for free, a simple sand and paint to them and you have yourself a picnic table!
WASTE FREE
Try making your picnic as sustainable as possible. Minimising the use of plastic will not only cut down clean up time but it will also help your event feel luxe. Using mason jars to store food, drinks or to be used as cups is an environmental alternative and will be a sophisticated touch. Whilst bringing metal cutlery, fabric napkins and plastic free treats will not only cut down the time it takes to find a bin out in the wilderness but it'll also help the environment a lot!

A picnic can't be complete without FOOD! Providing an abundance of food in an appetising way will sure keep your guests satisfied. Try making your own grazing board. All it takes is dips, crackers, cheeses, fruits and a sweet or two. Take inspiration from these!
